Voices of Birralee invites applications from male ensembles to participate in the Pemulwuy! National Male Voice Festival Friday 3 - Sunday 5 July 2026.

In addition to your ensemble members singing in the Pemulwuy choirs ensembles may apply to perform at the showcase concerts in their own solo set. These concerts give ensembles the chance to share their music making in a very supportive environment.

The Festival will run multiple strands and these are:

Treble Boys Strand: 10 years and over SSA
Youth Strand: school aged changed/changing voices TTBB
Adult Strand: post secondary school adults - no upper age limit

Registrations must be supported by a willingness to prepare/learn 4 to 5 pieces of music for the Pemulwuy choirs which will be sent to you in May 2026. Audio files will be provided where possible.

Registration info:
* cost is $195 per chorister
* each ensemble receives two complimentary registrations for the conductor and accompanist.
* registration fee does not include accommodation, catering or transport for ensembles - this must be organised by your ensemble management
* by paying the $300 deposit you are confirming that your ensemble will be a part of Pemulwuy! National Male Voice Festival
* the $300 deposit will be deducted from your overall ensemble cost. Final payment for ensembles is 22 May 2026.

Deadlines:
15 March 2026 - deadline for photo and bio details
22 May 2026 - deadline for all participant names including supervising staff
25 May 2026 - deadline repertoire

Venues:
Rehearsals and concerts will be held at Brisbane Girls Grammar School & Brisbane Grammar School, Gregory Tce, Spring Hill

Fees

    • 300 Per Ensemble

Terms and conditions

  • Please note that the $300 deposit will be deducted from the invoice for the final number of singers in your ensemble.
  • Ensemble photographs should be sent to events@birralee.org and should be minimum 300 dpi. Photos will be used on the Pemulwuy website and in the Festival program.
  • Media Release Agreement - it is agreed that each of the singers in my ensemble are able to be photographed / videoed as part of the Pemulwuy! National Male Voice Festival.
